The 4-year-old mare Allegiant (sired by Tactical Landing), who was sold to the Swedish Eagle Rising stable last December and is now trained by Daniel Redén, delivered a strong performance when she made her first start for her new owner and trainer on Thursday evening (May 15).
Allegiant, with Ôrjan Kihlström in the bike, easily won the Rune Johansson’s Grand Prix at the Ôrebro track in central Sweden, timed in 1:56.3f (mile rate). There was a $13,000 first prize.
In the beaten field were two other USA horses that were imported to Sweden this winter. Volcanic Blue Chip finished third, beaten by four lengths, while Bella’s Musclehill was fifth, beaten by six lengths.
