Lebanon, KY — The Kentucky Proud Series kicked off at the Lebanon Fairgrounds, with 26 races for 2 and 3-year-old KY-bred horses. The Washington County Fair featured a lot of young talent in all classes, highlighted by a track record in the 3-year-old colt pace. Geremy Bobbit captained the Rodney DeBeck trained Captain Arturovico (Captaintreacherous – Tilikum – Jereme’s Jet) to victory by 7-1/4 lengths in a new track record of 1:55.4. DeBeck had 3 other training wins on the day.

Trainer Charlie Conrad ended the day with 5 training wins and Carson Conrad finished with 6 driving wins to lead the way. The Conrad trained and driven Hungry Spirit was the fastest 2-year-old of the day winning in 2:00.4, with a last quarter of 28. The Stay Hungry gelding is homebred for Brent Hopper and Kyle Gray. Conrad also had the fastest 2 year old filly pacer of the day, War Cry. The Summa Cum Laude filly is owned by Charlie, Carson and Carder Conrad.
The next KY Proud Series races will take place at Mayfield, KY on Saturday (May 31). The box will close Monday (May 26), at 6:00 p.m.
