Columbus, OH — Thirty-eight fair racing officials from three states, as well as Ohio State Racing Commission (OSRC) deputy director Tanya Boulmetis and Commissioner Greg Simpson, convened on Saturday (May 24) at the Champaign County Fairgrounds in Urbana, Ohio, for a pre-season educational meeting.

Starter Mike Woebkenberg moderated the discussion, which included topics of race day procedures, handling late driver changes, reporting fines and suspensions and no contest races.
USTA staff person Michele Kopiec provided a presentation on no contest races and Lisa Schwartz, secretary/treasurer for the Ohio Colt Racing Association and administrator of the Signature Series, provided no contest races for the group to review and discuss.
This annual spring meeting, organized by Woebkenberg, proved to be an excellent opportunity for Ohio officials to meet with each other, the OSRC and the USTA to prepare for the 2025 fair racing season.
