Vernon, NY — Prospectors Gold (Chris Long) captured the featured $7,500 pace at Vernon Downs on Saturday (May 31).
Prospectors Gold ($2.30) blasted out of the gate and led to the quarter in :28. He used a :30.1 second quarter and was first to the half in :58.1. Twin B Kingston (Frank Affrunti) came first-up to heading around the final turn but could not get close to the leader. Prospectors Gold led to three-quarters in 1:26.
As they reached the stretch, second-place finisher War of Will (Leon Bailey) and third-place finisher Mask On Mask Off (Jimmy Whittemore) came all-out after the leader, but Prospectors Gold was too strong and won in 1:54.2.

Prospectors Gold is a 6-year-old gelding by Huntsville owned and trained by Gary Levine. It was his fifth win this season. He now has 15 career victories.
Jeff Sorenson had a training triple. John MacDonald had a driving and training double.
