After a surprising defeat in the Breeders Course Final at Solvalla to Swedish Danish Wise Guy, Philippe Allaire’s Italian Muscle Hill son, Ginostrabliggi, driven by Gabriele Gelormini, has returned to his winning ways in a major Italian race.
At San Siro Racetrack in Milan, Ginostrabliggi easily claimed victory in the Gran Premio Nazionale—one of the premier test races for Italy’s Derby contenders. The winner’s prize was €64,000. This marks Ginostrabliggi’s ninth win in 10 starts.
Another horse with a strong taste for victory is the French 7-year-old gelding, Inexess Bleu, trained by Laurent-Claude Abrivard and driven by his son, Alexandre Abrivard.
On Saturday afternoon (June 7), Inexess Bleu secured his latest consecutive victory at Vincennes, extending a winning streak that began on December 5. He captured the Group II Prix Chambon P, earning a purse for the winner of €54,000.
Meanwhile, in Sweden, Tingsryd hosted its first-ever V75 race on the country’s only mile racetrack. The event was celebrated with a new track record, as Oscar LA (sired by Ready Cash), trained by Alessandro Gocciadoro and driven by Ulf Ohlsson, triumphed in 1:50.1 —smashing the previous record of 1:51.
