Nichols, NY — Tioga Downs played host for two $53,500 divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for 2-year-old trotting fillies on Sunday (July 13).
I’ll Have The Red (Scott Zeron) cruised to an easy win in the first division.

Overalls (Jordan Stratton) sprinted right out of the gate and led to the quarter in :28.1. I’ll Have The Red ($5.80) took command heading to the clubhouse turn and led to the half in :58.1. She remained in control to three-quarters in 1:27.1.
As they reached the stretch, I’ll Have The Red (Chapter Seven-Shishito) just took off and left everyone in her dust as she stopped the clock in a lifetime best of 1:56. Jula Hot To Chill (Mattias Melander) was a distant second. Grace In Heaven (Brett Beckwith) finished third.
I’ll Have The Red is a 2-year-old filly by Chapter Seven-Shishito. She is owned by James Walker, Johnny Marvento, and Trainer Rick Zeron. She is now two for two.
Nezuko Kamada S (Scott Zeron) captures the second division.
Storybook Love (Todd Ratchford) was first to the quarter in :28.1. She slowed things way down with a :30.1 second quarter as she led to the half in :58.2. Nezuko Kamada S ($3.50) made her move first-up going down the backstretch and was first to three-quarters in 1:26.3.
As they entered the stretch Nezuko Kamada S (Chapter Seven-Zefira Kronos IT) made it a race for second as she won her first career race in 1:55.3. Sharp Seven (Jeff Gregory) finished second. Storybook Love had to settle for third place money.

Driver Scott Zeron won both divisions of the NYSS and grabbed a win in the Excelsior division as well giving him a hat trick for the afternoon.
