Lexington, KY — On Sunday (July 20), The Red Mile kicks off the historic red clay oval’s 150th season of operation under the lights with eight $50,000 Kentucky Proud Finals for freshman and sophomores of both gaits on a 10-race card.
The road to championships rolls through the Bluegrass as the Kentucky Sire Stakes program produced Dan Patch Award winners Louprint, Miki And Minnie and Allegiant, with Sig Sauer capturing the Kentucky Futurity, the third gem in the Trotting Triple Crown.
Implemented in 2020, the Kentucky Proud Series promotes harness racing on the Commonwealth’s fair circuit. Horses must compete in 50 percent of the seven legs to be eligible for the final.
Although every finals contest appears quite competitive with well-matched fields, several individuals stand out from the crowd.
In the 2-year-old filly trot, Giggity Goo (Marvin Luna) is 8-5 on the morning line. The daughter of Googoo Gaagaa-Devanly possesses a record of 4-3-0-0 and stands atop the points leaderboard standings for conditioner Alexandra Sarkine.
Leaving from post position three in the first race, Giggity Goo sports a lifetime mark of 1:58.4, which towers over her nine rivals. The filly has banked $15,750 in her brief career and is owned by Sarah Boggs.
Cinamontoastcrunch (Kyle Wilfong) leads all 3-year-filly pacers on the circuit in the point standings. The daughter of Captain Crunch-Love At First Bite hails from the barn of Erv Miller and is 3-1 on the morning line.
The filly has yet to finish off the board with a 9-5-2-2 record and has banked $36,010 in 2025.
Cinamontoastcrunch will leave from post position five and faces nine other competitors in the second race. She sports a lifetime mark of 1:53 and is owned by her trainer in conjunction with Douglas Overhiser as well as Levi Bontrager.
In the 3-year-old colt and gelding trot, Whiskey Wow (Pat Curtin) is 8-5 on the morning line but must commence his mile from the 10-hole in the third race. The son of Crazy Wow-Whimzical is the points leader in his division for trainer Burlin Bower.
Whiskey Wow has a record of 8-5-1-2 this season and amassed $37,610. He has a lifetime mark of 1:55 and is owned by his conditioner.

Always By The Sea (Todd McCarthy) is 7-2 on the morning line and is the leader in her respective division for freshman filly pacers. Trained by Charlie Conrad, the daughter of Always B Miki-Cruzinbytheseaside drew post position eight in the field of 10 with a record of 7-3-2-0 and $24,215 in the bank.
The filly has a lifetime mark of 1:55.1 and this event is carded as race four.
Always By The Sea is owned by Jay Mossbarger and Steve Carter.
In the sixth race, 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers clash. Captain Arturovico (Geremy Bobbitt) is 6-5 on the morning line and will leave from the rail. The son of Captaintreacherous-Tilikum is third in points in this division but the Rodney DeBeck trainee has a record of 11-7-3-0 and has collected $88,500 this season.
Captain Arturovico owns a mark of 1:53 and is owned by his trainer.
Magical Six Pack (David Miller/Andy Shetler) leads the way in the 2-year-old colt and gelding trot. The son of Six Pack-Magical Valentine is trained by Jason Enlow and is 3-1 on the morning line.
He will begin trotting from post position two in the seventh race and has a record of 7-4-1-0.
Magical Six Pack is the leader of his division in the point standings with a mark of 1:58.4. He has collected $26,525 in purse money and is owned by his trainer.
In the eighth race for 2-year-old colt and gelding pacers, Fletchers Field (Bobbitt) is 4-1 on the morning line and will begin his mile from post position eight. The son of Tall Dark Stranger-Coronet is trained by DeBeck and is the points leader in this division.
Fletchers Field sports a record of 7-5-0-2, has a mark of 1:55.1 and has earned $27,840.
He is owned by his trainer and Randy Donahue.
The ninth race and final Kentucky Proud Series event of the evening will showcase sophomore filly trotters. Gottakeepondreamin will leave from post position eight and 3-1 on the morning line.
The daughter of Greenshoe-Dream Baby Dream hails from DeBeck’s shedrow and will have Bobbitt in the sulky. The filly is tied atop the leaderboard with Nikki Strikes (Curtain, 9-5, post position three).
Gottakeepondreamin sports a record of 11-5-2-1 in 2025 and has banked $34,795. Her swiftest mile to date is 1:56.
She is owned by her trainer and Randy Donahue.
Racing will continue through Sunday (Oct. 5), following a Sunday through Wednesday schedule. Fans and horsemen can look forward to 5:05 p.m. post times on Sundays, and 1:00 p.m. post times on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays throughout the meet.
Monday (July 21) will feature two $35,000 divisions of the Kentucky Sire Stakes for 4-year-old male and female pacers. Tuesday (July 22) will offer two $35,000 divisions of the Kentucky Sire Stakes for 4-year-old male and female trotters.
