Vernon, NY – Crazy Crown (John MacDonald) captured the $6,500 featured trot at Vernon Downs on Friday (July 18).

Jesmach On Target (Chris Long) got the early lead but Crazy Crown ($14.60) took control and got to the quarter first in :27.4. He slowed things way down using a :30.3 second quarter as he led to the half in :58.2. He opened the lead heading around the final turn and was first to three-quarters in 1:26.4.
As they reached the stretch second place finisher What A Mission (Michael Miller) and third place finisher Jesmach On Target went all out after the leader and closed the gap but Crazy Crown had the jump on them and won in 1:56.2.
Crazy Crown is a 4-year-old gelding by Crazy Wow. He is owned by the Purple Haze Stables and trained by Jessica Okusko. It was his third win of the season and his 10th career victory.
Joe Nassimos had a driving double. Forty G’s (Roman Lopez) is five for five in 2025 with another impressive victory.
