Columbus, MN – The featured event on the Tuesday night (July 22) program at Running Aces was the $11,750 Open II pace, with a full field of nine contestants.

Spiritofanoutlaw was the talk of the tote board from post one and was sent off at 2-5 while Zanetti was the second choice of the public at 7-2 from post five.
Trainer/driver Brady Jenson got away sharply with Spiritofanoutlaw from the inside post and secured the pocket while 16-1 longshot I’m A Skoldier (Josiah Miller) went to the front from post seven and posted solid early fractions of :27.3 and :56.3 while Love Your Work A (Brian Detgen) made an early outside bid and Unfiltered (Aaron Lehman) followed his cover.
Love Your Work A provided heavy pressure to the leader during the middle stages but could not clear to the front and I’m A Skoldier had the field stacked up behind him as they registered 1:24.1 for three panels.
In the lane, Jenson dove into the passing lane with Spiritofanoutlaw ($2.80) and he exploded with pace, drawing away in the final yards to post a 2-1/4 length tally in 1:52.3 while stablemate PD The Big Easy (Brandon Jenson) flew home from the back of the pack to nose out I’m A Skoldier for second at 53-1.
The winner is a 4-year-old son of Western Trademark, he is also owned by Jenson. He now shows five wins and $56,412 in earnings this season.
Brady Jenson led the program with a driving and training double while Maria Alvarez also posted a training double.
Live racing returns to Running Aces on Thursday night (July 24) for a 12-race program that will get underway at 6 p.m. (CDT).
