Vernon Downs, NY – Vernon Downs played host for two divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for freshmen trotting fillies on Friday (July 25).
Sharp Seven (Jeff Gregory) captures the $52,500 first division

Sharp Seven ($11) went straight to the front and led to the quarter in :28.3. She used a :29.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :57.4. She remained in complete control showing the way to three-quarters in 1:26.2.
As they reached the stretch, second-place finisher I’ll Have The Red (Rick Zeron) came all out after the lead but Sharp Seven had plenty in the tank getting her first career win in 1:55. Grace in Heaven (Brett Beckwith) finished third.
Sharp Seven is a 2-year-old filly by Chapter Seven-Lookin Sharp. She is owned by the Purple Haze Stables and trained by George Ducharme.
Nezuko Kamada S (Brett Beckwith) takes the $53,500 second division

Overalls (Jordan Stratton) shot out of the gate and led to the quarter in :28.1. Nezuko Kamada S ($2.40) then made her move first-up going down the backstretch and led to the half in :58.2. She cruised to three-quarters in 1:27.
As they reached the stretch, Nezuko Kamada S put it in overdrive and won easily in 1:56. Jula Hot To Chill (Braxten Boyd) came charging late to finish second. Seven Winds (Jeff Gregory) was third.
Nezuko Kamada S is a 2-year-old filly by Chapter Seven-Zefria Kronos It. She is owned by Courant Inc. and trained by Marcus Melander. She now has two lifetime wins,
Jeff Gregory and George Ducharme combined for three wins on the card.
