Lexington, KY — On yet another evening with extreme temperatures, Setyoursightshigh and Rani Hanover brought plenty of heat of their own to The Red Mile’s 15-race card on Wednesday (July 30). The evening’s events focused on freshman filly trotters and they did not disappoint in one $80,000 first round leg of the Kentucky Championship Series, four $30,00 first legs of the Kentucky Commonwealth Series, four $15,000 first legs of the Kentucky Golden Rod Series and three $10,000 first round legs of the Kentucky Wildcat Series.
Setyoursightshigh soars in Championship Series
In the 11th race, Setyoursightshigh (Jason Bartlett) bested 11 rivals to improve her record to 4-3-1-0 and lowered her mark to 1:53.1 to serve notice she is a force to be reckoned with for trainer Marcus Melander.

The daughter of In Range-Special Interest was saddled with post position nine after Country Glide (post position one) was scratched sick. Setyoursightshigh was in eighth as Ygritte (Mattias Melander) set the first split of :28. The filly advanced to sixth as Jailbird Jog (Tim Tetrick) wrested control to the half in :56.1. By the three-quarter pole, Avenzee (Todd McCarthy) decided it was her time to go to the front and trotted the third fraction in 1:25.4 with Setyoursightshigh moving into third.
As the fillies made their final drive to the finish line, favored Madam Cheval (Yannick Gingras) took her turn on the lead but Setsyoursighthigh would not be denied. As Madam Cheval retreated, Carve (Andrew McCarthy) came on for second with Victorianas Secret (Scott Zeron) closing from last in the early stages to be third.
Bred by Kentuckiana Farms, Setyoursightshigh is a half sibling to Saywhatimthinkin (Swan For All, $243,442) and was a $50,000 2004 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale purchase for Heights Stable, Mantorp LLC, AMG Stable Inc., and K Kjellgren Livs AB Inc.
The filly paid $9.68 to win and boosted her bankroll to $175,000.
Rani Hanover struts her stuff in the Commonwealth Series
Bartlett and trainer Tony Alagna teamed up to win the third division of this series with heavy favorite Rani Hanover. The daughter of Walner-Ramona Hill collected her first victory in her debut. Creator (Dexter Dunn) was a neck behind her in second with Numanthia (Nicholas Roussel) in third.
Leaving from post position three in the field of nine, Rani Hanover and her pilot were positioned in third as Giggity Goo (David Miller) set the tone with a :29.3 first split. Giggity Goo enjoyed her position on top as she continued to lead the field with fractions of :59 and 1:27.4.
As Creator advanced from fifth entering the lane, Rani Hanover was briefly in fourth, but snatched the lead from the tiring pacesetter to launch her own assault to the finish line.
Bred by Hanover Shoe Farms and Crawford Farms Racing, Rani Hanover is owned by Kenneth Jacobs. The first foal out of 2020 Hambletonian victress Ramona Hill, the filly was a record-setting $925,000 at the 2025 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale. She is the third highest priced yearling ever sold at that venue.
Breaking her maiden in her debut, Rani Hanover paid $3.24 to those who supported her.
Lainey W (Zeron) won the first division of the Commonwealth Series in 1:54.3 for trainer Melander. The daughter of Bar Hopping-The Black Beauty went wire-to-wire over the field of eight with splits of :29.4, :58.4 and 1:27.3. Zaheera (A. McCarthy) was second and Degas (Anthony Macdonald) was third.
The filly broke her maiden in her third attempt and is now 3-1-1-0 with $22,500 in the bank.
Lainey W was bred by Kentuckiana Farms and Perry Soderberg. She was purchased for $125,000 at last year’s Lexington Selected Yearling Sale by Brittany Farms in conjunction with Marvin and Lynn Katz.
The filly is the first foal out of her dam. Her third dam is Canland Hall (Garland Lobell, $339,143) who was responsible for Hall of Famer Cantab Hall (Self Possessed, $1.44 million).

Heart For Two (T. McCarthy) dispensed of seven rivals to take the second Commonwealth division in 1:55.1 for trainer Andrew Harris. Isotta Bi (Dunn) was the runner-up with The Ice Princess (Tetrick) completing the trifecta.
Bred by Louis Baudron, Heart For Two is a daughter of Gimpanzee-House Music Fr. The filly broke her maiden in her second trip to the gate.
Heart For Two is owned by William Pollock, Bruce Areman and her trainer.
The filly is a half sister to House Of Love (Trixton, $111,325) and is the second foal out of her unraced dam. She was purchased for $180,000 at last year’s Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.
Heart For Two paid $14.34 to win at odds of 6-1.
All Fancy Like pulls a mild upset in Golden Rod Series, Wildcat Series formful
All Fancy Like (Dunn) wired the field of 10 in the fourth and final division of the Kentucky Golden Series for trainer Chris Ryder in 1:55.1 and odds of 12-1.
Bred by Buckstone Land Livestock, the daughter of Tactical Landing– M and Mms is owned by Country Club Acres, Joe Sbrocco, Hutchison Harness LLC and In The Gym Partners.
All Fancy Like paid $26.38 to win.
Meme Queen (D. Miller) led a trio of favorites in the first division of this series for trainer Carter Pinske. The daughter of Propulsion- S M S Princess tripped the timer in 1:57.1.
The filly was bred by Windsong Stable and is owned by N Fellows, Blair Corbeil and Windermere Stable LLC.
Meme Queen paid $5.38 to win.
Kerstin (Gingras) took the second division in 1:55.3 for trainer Per Engblom. The daughter of Gimpanzee-Exploding Alice Fi was bred by Order By Stable Ab.
The filly paid $3.88 to win and is owned by her conditioner’s stable, R A W Equine Inc., Daniel Sarafian and Evans Nation.
Dunn steered Guinevere to a 1:55.4 triumph for Ryder in the third division. The daughter of Tactical Landing-Vita Bella Bi was bred by Bob Stewart and Lynda Stewart. The filly is owned by William Donovan and Fair Winds Farm Inc.
Guinevere paid $4.56 to win.
D. Miller and Pinske kicked the card off with a win in the first of three divisions of the Kentucky Wildcat Series with Cindy Lou Who Deo in 1:56.1. The daughter of Six Pack-Uf Lindsay Lou Who was bred by Deo Volente Farms Inc. She is owned by her trainer’s stable, Enzed Racing Stable Inc., and Melvin Hartman.
Cindy Lou Who Deo paid $20.60 and went off at odds of 9-1.
She’s Moni and Dunn took the second division of the series in 1:57.3 for trainer Nancy Takter. The daughter of Walner-Thats All Moni was the favorite. The filly was bred by Brittany Farms, Marvin Katz and Al Libfeld.

The Bob Stewart conditioned Calgary Sun (A. McCarthy) won the third division of the Wildcat Series in 1:57.2 as the second longest shot in the field of seven. The daughter of Calgary Games-Sansuna Hanover was bred by Vet Performance Therapy Ab.
Calgary Sun is owned by Myfab Inc. She paid $34.98 at the windows.
