Columbus, MN – The Sunday night (Aug. 3) harness racing program at Running Aces was highlighted by the 2025 Dan Patch FFA pace with a talent filled field of six going into battle for the $40,000 event.
Aces newcomer Dale Yeah was sent off as the 3-5 chalk while 2023 Dan Patch FFA champion He’zzz A Wise Sky was also highly regarded by bettors at 6-5 on the board. These two pacers put on quite a display in the Dan Patch Preview event at Aces on July 20.
When the starter said ‘go’ it was Speaking Volumes (Rick Magee) who fired fastest from the car and took the early command while He’zzz A Wise Sky also left quickly to drop in second and Dale Yeah landed in third for the early stages.

Dean Magee was not content to sit the pocket with He’zzz A Wise Sky and they brushed to the front just after the :26.4 opening stanza and were settled on top as they rounded past the half in :54.4 while Lloyd’s Loves (Billy Mann) tipped out from fourth for a first-over try with Mac’s Marvel (Josiah Miller) taking the outside cover.
Heading onto the final turn, He’zzz A Wise Sky still had command with Dale Yeah and Brady Jenson getting set to attack from the pocket and Speaking Volumes was tracking closely from third.
After three-panels in 1:22.4 the battle was on, and Dale Yeah began to draw alongside the leader and as they straightened for home the top two traded blows for a thrilling stretch battle with Dale Yeah gaining the upper hand in the final strides to edge past He’zzz A Wise Sky for a three-quarter length tally in 1:50.3.
Speaking Volumes held third from Alilthundadownunda.

All Champy (Explosive Matter) put on quite a display of trotting talent in the $15,500 Open Handicap, going gate-to-wire from post seven and delivering as the 2-5 favorite.
Driver Mooney Svendsen sent the 11-year-old star right to the front and they strolled through solid fractions in :28, :57.4 and 1:26.2 before drawing away with authority in the lane for a four-length tally in 1:55.2. Bringoverthemoney (Dean Magee) was second best and Escaper (Mann) rallied late for third.
