Yonkers, NY – Joe Lee and Bob Krivelin registered blowout wins in their respective divisions of the North American Amateur Drivers Association (NAADA) trots at MGM Yonkers Raceway on Thursday night (Aug. 14).
Lee pulled a 10-1 upset with a 10-3/4 length win by Reign Of Honor in the $13,100 first division. Lee sat in the pocket while Muscle Dan (driven by Tony Ciuffetelli) carved early fractions of :27.4 and :57.3 before pulling outside for an attack. Reign Of Honor seized the lead after three-quarters in 1:27.2 and scampered clear to stop the clock in 1:56.3. Muscle Dan held second from 6-5 favorite Swiss House Onfire (Scott Keppler) in third. Star Hairdresser (Andrew Adamczyk) rallied from last for fourth.
John McDermott trains Reign Of Honor, a 9-year-old Father Patrick gelding, for owner Mary McDermott. He paid $22.40 to win.
Bob Krivelin later stormed down the road in a pillar-to-post romp with Los Ballykeelamigo in a 1:59.4 mile. Krivelin cut splits of :30.2, 1:01.2 and 1:29.2 to put his foes on the ropes and was well clear on the turn for home. Los Ballykeelamigo strolled in a winner by 8-3/4 lengths over 77-1 shot Backstreet Player (Joe Pennacchio), who persevered through a parked mile to take second. Itsoneofthose (Andrew Adamczyk), the 7-5 favorite, emerged from a locked trip for third and Kilauea (Joe Faraldo) finished fourth.
Ricky Bucci trains Los Ballykeelamigo, an 8-year-old gelding by Amigo Hall, for owner Flatland Racing. He paid $6.90 to win.
NAADA action shifts back to Monticello next Wednesday (Aug. 20) for the ninth leg of the club’s summer trotting series. First-race post time at Monticello is 12:10 p.m. (EDT).
