Columbus, OH — Gaetan P. Cloutier, 79, of Leeds, ME passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Marshwood Center. He was the longtime partner of Mary J. Parker.
He was born in Lac-Megantic, Quebec, Canada on September 5, 1945, the son of the late Herve & Marie (Frenette) Cloutier. He spent his early years in Canada before moving to the United States at the age of eighteen. He moved to Leeds with Mary, in the late 1980’s.
Gaetan, a very hard worker, co-owned and operated Imperial Flooring in Lewiston for twenty-nine years before becoming self-employed and retiring at the age of seventy.
He loved all New England Sports, especially the Boston Bruins. Gaetan had a passion for horse racing, having owned and throughout his life. His last two horses, The Boy N and Sam Francisco Ace, were his pride and joy. He was a member of the USTA and MHHA.
Gaetan enjoyed going to camp in Ellsworth on Green Lake and camping at the Windsor and Fryeburg Fairs.
Besides Mary he is survived by his two daughters Celeste Beaudet of Auburn, ME and Christine Cloutier of Lewiston and his stepson Ronnie Parker of Leeds. He also leaves behind his two granddaughters, Anna and Grace as well as four siblings Louisette Cloutier, Ronald Cloutier and his wife Louise, Jocelyne Cloutier and Guy Cloutier; his sisters-in-laws Marie-Paule Duplessis and Linda Cloutier and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will always remember and love him.
He was also the brother of the late Rolande Klucinskas, Leo Paul Cloutier, Maurice Cloutier, Jean Marc Cloutier, Gilberte Desjardins and Fernand Cloutier.
The family would like to thank the staff at Andwell Health Partners and Marshood Center for all the care Gaetan received.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 4 -7 pm at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway, Lewiston. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 11 am at St Peter’s Cemetery, Deer Road, Lewiston.
