Lexington, KY — On Tuesday (Sept. 2) The Red Mile will host the $80,000 fourth round leg of the Kentucky Championship Series for sophomore male pacers, which the industry often refers to as the “glamour division.” This edition is not without some serious horsepower as world champion Sippinonsearoc enters on a three-race win streak yet has his hooves full with a talented field of eight rivals.
Yannick Gingras will assume his normal position in the sulky when he and 2-1 morning line selection Sippinonsearoc begin pacing from post position seven. The son of Downbytheseaside– Queen Anne M is conditioned by Ron Burke and returns to the Bluegrass after a brief visit to the Buckeye State, where he collected another powerful score in 1:50.4 at MGM Northfield Park in a $100,000 fifth leg of the Ohio Sire Stakes.

The fleetest 2-year-old in the history of the sport has been magnificent since a fourth-place finish in the $385,000 Adios in July in the Championship Series.
“He is in great form,” said Burke. “We hope to finish out the season strong.”
Bred by Trent Stohler and Alesha Binkley, Sippinonsearoc set his seasonal mark and equaled his world record time of 1:48.2 in the second leg of this series on Aug. 12 after collecting his first win since May in the first leg.
Purchased by his trainer’s racing contingent, Weaver Bruscemi, R A S Services and Knox Services for $77,000 at the 2023 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, Sippinonsearoc has rewarded his connections with a $770,900 bankroll from a record of 21-10-4-2.
The colt will have to defeat stablemates Captain Arturovico (Dexter Dunn, post position eight) and Harrisburg Heist (Todd McCarthy, post position nine). Each foe is 7-2 on the morning line.
Captain Arturovico is a recent private purchase by his trainer, Weaver Bruscemi, Larry Karr and Phillip Collura. The son of Captaintreacherous-Tiikum was previously owned by Rodney DeBeck and his breeder Randy Zane.
The gelding was second by a head to Harrisburg Heist in 1:49.4 in his debut for his new stable in leg three.
Captain Arturovico sports a resume of 29-9-6-2 and has earned $143,909.
Harrisburg Heist is striving for his fourth consecutive win and it would be his second in this company. The son of Downbytheseaside-Cashaway made his 2025 bow in Lexington with a triumph in the first leg of the Commonwealth Series, captured an Ohio Sire Stakes contest at Eldorado Scioto Downs and returned to the red clay to outlast the new member in the shed row.
Bred by Brittany Farms and Marvin Katz, the gelding was purchased privately by his trainer, Knox Services, Phillip Collura and Weaver Bruscemi.
Harrisburg Heist was winless from nine starts as a 2-year-old but has compiled a record of 12-8-2-0 with $195,937 in purse money.
Fusion seeks to place his best hoof forward in Commonwealth Series
Competing as a homebred for Diamond Creek Farm, Fusion (T. McCarthy) is 9-2 on the morning line in the sole fourth round leg of this series. The son of Always B Miki and champion Pure Country is trained by Brett Pelling and was assigned post position eight in the eight-horse field.
The colt is vying for his third consecutive win and is stepping up in class after capturing two legs of the Kentucky Golden Rod Series, with his last win in a lifetime mark of 1:50.4.
Fusion is last year’s Commonwealth Series Final victor and accomplished this under the care of Nancy Takter. He was transferred to Pelling for this year’s campaign and is 6-3-1-0 in 2025. The colt is 12-7-2 overall with $136,447 in purse money.
The 14-race card includes one $15,000 Golden Rod Series division and one $10,000 Kentucky Wildcat leg.
Racing will continue through Sunday (Oct. 5), following a Sunday through Wednesday schedule. Fans and horsemen can look forward to 5:05 p.m. post times on Sundays, and 1:00 p.m. post times on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays throughout the meet.
The Red Mile will once again feature industry low takeout on the pari-mutuel side of things while offering fans a full buffet of wagering options including bookend daily double wagering exacta and trifecta wagering, 20 cent superfectas, Pick-3, Pick-4, Pick-5 and Pick-6 offerings and the Super Hi-5.
