Nichols, NY – Prospectors Gold (Greg Merton) and Lady Saturn (Brett Crawford) were the winners of the co-features at Tioga Downs on Friday (Sept. 12).
Prospectors Gold ($9.18) grabbed the $10,000 featured pace.

Captain Up (Braxten Boyd) led to the quarter in :26.3. He used a :28.2 second quarter to be first to the half in :55. Captain Up continued to lead to three-quarters in 1:22.4. As the field made the turn for home, Prospectors Gold popped out of the pocket and went on by winning by two lengths in 1:51.4. Always B Elvis (Jim Pantaleano) came charging late to finish second. Captain Up settled for third.
Prospectors Gold is a 6-year-old gelding by Huntsville. He is owned and trained by Gary Levine. It was his ninth win this year. He now has 20 career victories.
Lady Saturn ($11.82) captured the $10,000 featured pace for fillies and mares.
Alabama Hannah (Pantaleano) carved out all the early fractions. She was first to the quarter in :27.3 and first to the half in :57.2. Lady Saturn made her move first-up going down the backstretch as Alabama Hannah led to three quarters in 1:25.2. Heading for home, Alabama Hannah and Lady Saturn started trading blows, with Lady Saturn surging ahead late to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:53.3. Charming Vixen (Tyler Miller) finished third.
Lady Saturn is a 4-year-old mare by Huntsville. She is owned by Dragon Tales Farm and trained by Michelle Crawford. It was her fifth win this season. She now has 13 career victories.
Braxten Boyd had a driving grand slam. He got his wins with Ideal Beauty Queen, Miley Rose, Scootnroll, and Mickie Mantle.
Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Saturday (Sept. 13) with a post time of 6:15 p.m.
