Dayton, OH — Sent off as the betting favorite, Racing Rebel and driver Jermey Smith did not disappoint as they took the $28,000 featured Open pace on Saturday (Oct. 4).
Leaving from post seven, Racing Rebel (Jeremy Smith) settled in fourth behind a blazing opening quarter of :25.3 set by Martins Millions (Brett Miller). As the pace settled to a more manageable :28.2 second quarter, Jeremy Smith moved Racing Rebel first over just before the half as the timer clicked in :54.

The pace quickened as the leaders dueled past the three-quarter pole in 1:21.2 with Racing Rebel taking a slight lead. As they paced the final turn, Martins Millions began to tire, and Racing Rebel took command and cruised home to a two-length victory in 1:49.1.
The win was the 8th of the season for Racing Rebel and pushed his season’s earnings to shy of $200,000 for the 4-year-old son of Racing Hill. Stablemate Wicked Character finished second and Burnout (Ken Holliday) rounded out the trifecta.
The win for Jeremey Smith was one of four on the night, pushing him into an early lead in the driver standings with 24 wins, three over second place Chris Page. Brett Miller also racked up three wins on the card with Trevor and Tyler Smith each picking up driving doubles.
Racing returns Tuesday at 4 p.m.
