Vernon, NY – Drivers Chris Long and Leon Bailey put on a show as they each scored five winners on the night at Vernon Downs on Friday (Oct. 31).
As the night began, Long won the first three races with Midnight Carrie, Dapper Fashion, and Quarrel. Bailey then won race four with Ocean Blue.

Long guided Sweet Valley ($3.42) to a win in the $8,500 featured Open Trot. After City Of Hope laid down the early fractions, :28.3 to the quarter and :58.1 to the half. Sweet Valley (II Sogno Dream) made her move first-over heading around the final turn reaching three quarters first in 1:27.1. The Rob Harmon trained 6-year-old mare won easily in 1:58.3. What A Mission (Michael Miller) finished second.
Communion Money (Ron Harp) was third. Sweet Valley is owned by Karma Racing. It was her 11th win this season and her 16th career victory,
Bailey answered back winning three of the next four races, getting wins with Chillax DeVie, Shop Micki, and Double My Chips.
Long then won his fifth in race-11 with Wondrous Blue Chip. Bailey then won his fifth race in the last race of the night with Girlonthebillboard. Leading driver Long now has 98 wins this season. Bailey is four behind with 94 with five racing cards left.
Trainer Rob Harmon had three wins on the card. Michelle Warner and Gary Gibson each had training doubles.
