Ocean Pines, MD – The Maryland Standardbred Race Fund reminds breeders, owners, and stallion managers that stallion registration for the 2026 breeding season is due by Dec. 1, 2025.
All stallions standing in Maryland must be registered with the Maryland Standardbred Race Fund for their resulting foals to be eligible to compete in the Maryland Sire Stakes program. The registration fee is $500 if submitted by Dec. 1, 2025. Late registrations will be accepted, but at an increased rate: $750 if received after Dec. 1 but on or before Jan. 1, 2026 $1,500 if received after Jan, 1 but on or before Feb. 1, 2026.

The Maryland Sire Stakes program continues to experience exciting growth, with 2025 finals purses reaching $95,000 — the largest in program history.
