Dover, DE — Thirty-two of the nation’s top 3-year-olds land at Bally’s Dover on Thursday (Nov. 13) to contest the Matron Stakes.
The $132,350 Grade 2 Matron Stakes for 3-year-old trotting fillies takes place as race 6. Conversano, the winner of the Hambletonian Oaks at the Meadowlands, and Monalishi, who finished third in the Breeders Crown, contend.
Race 8 is the $163,050 Grade 2 Matron for 3-year-old male trotters. Meshuggah, who captured the Breeders Crown at odds of better than 60-1, competes with Crown runner-up Super Chapter, who boasts career earnings of over $1.6 million.
The 10th race is the $130,350 Grade 2 Matron for 3-year-old fillies on the pace. The Last Martini won the Breeders Crown in a dead heat with Miki And Minnie. Rodeo Drive Deo also deserves consideration after an impressive win at Hoosier Park, pacing the mile in 1:51 there.
The final Matron division of the night is the $149,350 Grade 3 Matron for 3-year-old colts and geldings on the pace, carded as race 12. Dandy Ideal should be considered after finishing second in the Breeders Crown. He also upset Louprint earlier. Prince Hal Hanover, a winner of over $1.1 million in career earnings, is also entered.
