Washington, PA — Here is this week’s Meadows Monday Memo.
Wednesday feature
A field of six will face starter Kim Vincent on Wednesday (Feb. 25) for race 8, an $18,000 Mares Open Pace. Kele Kele, trained and driven by Brady Jenson, rises to the top level this week after two straight wins in lower levels, in 1:53.4 and 1:52.4. The 7-year-old daughter of So Surreal leads the field that includes two each from trainers Ron Burke and Cory Kreiser, along with Hoosier Park-invader Anna Love N, now trained locally by Sal DiGati.
Record setter returns
Rose, a track record setter two years ago at age 2, will be back in action this Wednesday at The Meadows. A $400,000 winner at age 2 in 2024, the daughter of Sweet Lou has competed in two qualifiers to get back into shape for her 4-year-old season. Brad Burke, son of trainer Ron Burke, drove her to a 1:57.2 second-place effort on Feb. 11, followed by a winning qualifier on Feb. 18 in 1:56.3. Rose last raced in October 2025 in the Breeders Crown. Ronnie Wrenn Jr. will drive her from post 5 in Wednesday’s first race.
Trotters to battle Thursday
Thursday’s (Feb. 26) feature has drawn six entries into the $18,000 Open Handicap Trot, set as race 1 on the 13-race card. Sforza, now a winner of three out of four starts since joining the Bill Bercury stable, leads the field after last week’s 1:54.1 victory on the front. He will again battle with Emerald’s Legacy (Scott Betts Stable), who was a fast-closing second a week ago. Adamsville Road, trained by John Ryan Melsheimer, fresh off a 1:51.4 one-length loss last start at Miami Valley, makes his Meadows return as well.

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will is currently in its winter three-day-per-week schedule, with racing on Wednesday through Friday afternoons at 12:45 p.m. Thirteen races are carded for this Wednesday, and the $5,000 guaranteed pool on the Late Pick-4 is still offered daily.
