Lebanon, OH – Abbey D made it three in a row on Wednesday night (April 8) at Miami Valley by taking the featured $32,000 Open II.

Leaving hard from post five, Abbey D was driven away by Luke Hanners as he cleared to the front and opened up by 1-1/2 lengths over a strung out field in a quarter in :26.4. As they reached the front stretch for the first time, Luke tapped the brakes and the field closed ranks with 7-5 favorite and undefeated Battle Hill on his back.
From far back, Robert Michael moved first up, eventually bringing along First Class Rule. As they passed the half in :55.4, Abbey D continued to show the way with Battle Hill locked on her hind quarters. Niko Man sat third while Robert Michael inched in from fourth on the outside.
Heading to the three quarters, the order remained the same with Robert Michael making a little progress up to third. Three quarters came and went in 1:24 with Hanners now stepping on the gas as the pace quickened.
As they exited the final turn into the stretch, Abbey D led by a length and three quarters with Battle Hill pinned in second and Robert Michael to his outside. In deep stretch, Battle Hill finally got an opening but couldn’t make up any ground as Abbey D cruised home to win by a length and three quarters in 1:52.4. Battle Hill would hold second while Global Sensation shook loose late for third.
For Abbey D, it was her fourth win of the season, third in a row and a new season’s mark. The win gave her an even 30 for her career while closing in on a half million in earnings.
David Miller led all drivers with a grand slam on Tuesday card while Kayne Kauffman had a triple. Trainer Scot Davidson had a double.
Racing action closes out the week on Thursday night (April 9) at Miami Valley with a post time of 4 p.m.
