Vernon, NY – Driver Leon Baily had four wins on the opening night card including the $8,500 featured fillies & mares’ open pace with Huntressville A at Vernon Downs on Saturday (April 18).

In the feature Discoveringthehunt (Henry Westbrook III) led to the quarter in :26.0. She used a 30.2 second quarter and was first to the half in :56.2. Huntressville A ($17.16) made her move heading for the final turn. She forged to the front and led to three quarters in 1:25.0.
Second place finisher Quarrel (Chris Long) made a late bid in the stretch but fell short as Huntressville A won in a lifetime best of 1:52.2. Celcius (Steeven Genois) was third.
Huntressville A is a 7-year-old mare by Huntsville. Joe Skowyra trains for owners William and Sarah MacMillan. It was her first win of the season. She now has 18 career victories.
Bailey got his other wins with Pembroke Ali, Gotta Go Gram, and So Diva. Chris Long and Joe Nassimos had driving doubles. Skowyra and Michelle Warner had training doubles.
