Fort Washington, MD – Victor Laszlo blitzed a :27.2 third quarter uncovered en route to a career-best-equaling 1:53.2 score in Thursday’s (April 30) $12,000 Open Handicap Trot at Rosecroft Raceway.

In line to Eric Davis, Victor Laszlo got away fourth in the seven-horse field as Inferno DK (driven by Roger Plante Jr.) sprinted clear of Deadline Hall (Jonathan Roberts) to control early splits of :26.3 and :56.2. Heading into the clubhouse turn, Davis activated Victor Laszlo out of midfield, and the 5-year-old Chapter Seven-Sianna Hanover entire charged forward to make up a three-length deficit and overpower Inferno DK at the 1:24.2 three-quarter mark.
Victor Laszlo sped away from the field through the far turn and evaded runner-up Seal The Deal AS (Russell Foster) by a widening 6-1/2 lengths. Deadline Hall saved third from a failing pocket.
Trainer Janet Davis co-owns 15-time winner Victor Laszlo, who paid $3.80 to win as the 4-5 favorite, with Tamara Williams.
Live harness racing returns to Rosecroft on Saturday (May 2); the 10-race card is buoyed by a $17,279.35 carryover in the 50-cent Jackpot Hi-5, offered in the finale. First post is 7:15 p.m. (EDT).
