Anderson, IN – M-M-S Bud driven by LeWayne Miller for trainer Alvin Miller pulled off the upset as the longest shot on the board to find the winner’s circle in the star-studded $22,000 Open Pace at Hoosier on Friday (May 1).

Out of the gate against the rail in the field of six, M-M-s Bud settled third in behind Crooked Smile (Jordan Ross) as the leader Golden Bay N (Trace Tetrick) took charge through the first turn in :26.1.
Showing the way through the backstretch, Golden Bay N ushered the field single file through the halfway mark at :55. Heading into the final turn, M-M-s Bud moved out from third, wasting little time to take second before moving first-over on the leader, Golden Bay N, who reached the three-quarter turn in 1:23.1.
M-M-s Bud made quick work of Golden Bay N at the top of the stretch, moving to the front before Coach Stefanos (Marcus Miller) took aim off his cover. The stretch battle commenced as Coach Stefanos revved-up his usual late rally, with M-M-s Bud digging in gamely to his inside. Pacing home in :26.1, M-M-s Bud held Coach Stefanos at bay by a half-length on the wire in 1:49.3. Crooked Smile was third ahead of Golden Bay N, with Buzzsaw Russ getting the final check and 3-year-old champion Rock Shines Again finished last seeing his win-streak snapped after a perfect season in 2025.
M-M-S Bud’s lifetime earnings increased to $328,321 with his second win of the season. The victorious 5-year-old Tellitlikeitis-Climate Hanover gelding is owned by Ted Comerford, Alvin Miller and Marvin Schwartz. M-M-S Bud paid $40.20 to win.
