Nichols, NY – Sweet Valley (Mike Merton) charged late to capture the $11,000 featured trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday (May 2).

Herodotus (Tyler Miller) led to the quarter in :27.1. Rocket Man Hill (Braxten Boyd) took command just before hitting the half in :56. Ramborain (Dan Daley) came-first-up to challenge as they headed down the backstretch. Rocket Man Hill was first to three quarters in 1:25.4.
As they made the turn for home, Sweet Valley ($15.56) came three-wide down the lane and blew right by to win in 1:55.4. Ramborain held on for second. Doc Nixon (Ridge Warren) finished third.
Sweet Valley is a 5-year-old mare by II Sogno Dream. She is owned by Capital Racing LLC and trained by Rob Harmon. It was her first win this season. She now has 18 career victories.
Braxten Boyd had a driving hat trick. Mike Merton had a driving double. Rob Harmon had a training double.
Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Sunday (May 3) with an 11-race card starting at 1 p.m.
