Nichols, NY – Bettors Donttell (Ridge Warren) captured the $14,000 featured Open Pace at Tioga Downs on Sunday (May 3) as third choice in a scratch-shortened field of four.
Sun Of A Show (Braxten Boyd) took command when the wings folded and led the field to the quarter in :26.4 before Livonkaxandqueens (Greg Merton) took the lead pacing by the stands for the first time in a :55.3 opening half. Bettors Donttell ($7.24) raced fourth before making his move heading down the backstretch. Livonjaxandqueens maintained a half-length lead over his challenger as the field advanced to three quarters in 1:24.2.

As they made the turn for home, Bettors Donttell took off like a rocket, pacing home in :28.3 and stopping the clock in 1:53. Livonjaxandqueens had to settle for second money, crossing the wire 4-1/4 lengths back. Fearful Intent (Tyler Miller) finished third.
Bettors Donttell is an 8-year-old gelding by Bettor’s Delight. He is owned by Josh Kinney and trained by Cameron Capone. The victory is his fourth of the season and 32nd of his career.
Ridge Warren scored a driving hat trick, reaching the winner’s circle with Melanion N in the opener and Custom Fit in Race 4 ($31.14). Tom Merton and Braxten Boyd each had driving doubles. Cam Capone had a training double.
