Columbus, OH – Dayle D. Roof, 88, of Lockbourne, Ohio, passed away on May 2, 2026.
Born on Jan. 16, 1938, Mr. Roof was a successful businessman who loved harness racing and was an avid gardener. Being outside camping, fishing, golfing, or hunting were things he enjoyed. He even enjoyed cooking. Downtime was spent watching college ball. He lived a great and eventful life.
Mr. Roof was preceded in death by his wife, Alene (on April 17, 2026), his wife of over 70 years, and daughter, Nancy. He is survived by daughters, Debbie (Tom) Steffan, and Kim (David) Fields; grandchildren, Kristen (JD) Lucas, Karly Kutschbach, David Fields III, and Andrew Steffan; great-grandchildren, Demi and Arch Lucas.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 7, 2026, beginning at 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon at Graumlich Funeral Home, 1351 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43207, with Pastor Timothy Lee officiating. Interment to follow at Harrison Township Cemetery in South Bloomfield, Ohio.
Instead of flowers, the family would like a donation to be made in Dayle’s name to Arbors at Carroll, 3680 Dolson Court NW. Carroll, Ohio 43112, which took great care of both Dayle and Alene.
