10-TIME WINNERS
The first two horses to reach the 10-win plateau in harness racing this season both reached that mark at The Meadows this past week. On Thursday (April 30), Oh Look Magic, a 6-year-old trotter out of the Ron Burke Stable, won for the 10th time in just 12 starts. After multiple winning efforts at Miami Valley, Oh Look Magic was brought to The Meadows and was assigned post seven in the $19,000 Open Handicap Trot. The outside post didn’t deter him, as Oh Look Magic won for driver Ronnie Wrenn in 1:53.1. On Saturday, Don’t B Blue, a 4-year-old claiming pacer, won for the 10th time in his 14th start of the season. He has raced for several stables this year, and Saturday’s (May 2) win in a $12,000 claimer was for trainer Justin Pirillo. Mike Wilder drove Don’t B Blue to the victory.
WRENN TOPS MILLION MARK
Ronnie Wrenn has become the first Meadows driver this season to top the $1 million mark in earnings for his drives. He leads all Meadows drivers in wins (125) and is second in Universal Driver Rating (.390), and enters the week with $1,003,874 in purses. Dave Palone is second in wins with 117, and is tops in UDRS rating (.410), while sitting second in earnings at over $912,000. Aaron Merriman is third in all three categories, with 102 wins, a .319 rating, and $910,000+ in earnings.
