Washington, PA — The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association (MSOA) is proud to announce that applications are now open for its 2026 Scholarship Program, offering more than $69,000 in financial support to deserving students as they pursue their next level of education.
Each year, the MSOA is committed to investing in the future of its community by supporting students with strong academic performance, character, and ties to the harness racing industry. The 2026 scholarship lineup reflects the generosity and continued dedication of individuals and organizations who believe in empowering the next generation.
The following scholarships are available for the 2026 application cycle:
- $30,000 Bob Key Memorial Scholarship, donated by Patty Key
- $10,000 Burke Racing Scholarship, donated by Burke Racing
- $7,400 Greenshoe Scholarship, donated by Hanover Shoe Farms
- $5,000 MSOA Scholarship
- $5,000 In Memory of Mickey Burke Scholarship, donated by Sylvia Burke
- $5,000 Ron & Diane Burke Scholarship, donated by Ron & Diane Burke
- $3,800 Heston Blue Chip Scholarship, donated by Winbak Farm
- $2,500 Amulet Rehabilitation and Conditioning Scholarship, donated by Tom and Janet Svrcek
- $1,000 Meadows Scholarship, donated by Hollywood Casino at The Meadows
The newly introduced Ron & Diane Burke Scholarship will feature a slightly different selection process. Applicants for this award will be required to participate in a brief 10-minute phone interview with the MSOA Scholarship Committee as part of the evaluation process.
“These scholarships represent an incredible opportunity for students to achieve their educational goals,” said Dawnelle Johnston, MSOA executive director. “We are deeply grateful to our donors whose generosity continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.”
Applications are now being accepted, and eligible students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The deadline is Friday, May 22, 2026.
