Hamburg, NY — Final Game ($15.08) had the final say down the stretch in Buffalo Raceway’s $11,500 Pace on Friday afternoon (May 8) as he won the battle down the stretch to take a half-length victory over JD Camden GB in 1:57.2 over the fast track.

After watching Intrepid Ivy set on the front end and registered fractions of :28.2, :58.3 and 1:28,1, he started to feel the heat on the outside as Final Game (Wade Tomaszewski) made a slow but steady move on the outside.
Turning for the wire, Intrepid Ivy began to falter as Final Game, JD Camden GB and Kid From The Bronx made moves toward the top. Final Game was in the middle of the skirmish down the stretch and was able to top JD Camden GB (Kevin Cummings) and Kid From The Bronx (David McNeight III) who settled for second and third place respectively.
Owned by Philip Mazzone and trained by Courtney Wright, the 5-year-old gelded Final Game (Heston Blue Chip-Last Time In Play) has won four times in 10 attempts this year. The win pushed his seasonal earnings to $27,797 and to $122,574 lifetime.
In the co-featured $11,500 trotting events, Said N Done AS ($3.86) scored a 1-1/2 length decision over Star Power Hanover in 1:58.4 as Brett MacDonald steered him to the popular victory.
Bars Open ($9.74) took the other bracket with a half-length nod over Mister Squeeze in 1:58.3. McNeight III was aboard the winter,
MacDonald topped the driver’s with four victories while Tomaszewski tripled and McNeight III doubled. David Russo collected a training triple while Wright and Sheena Cohen each had two wins.
Racing will resume on Saturday (May 9) afternoon at 2:30 p.m. with a 13-race program scheduled.
