Northfield, OH – Sweet Illousion and driver Dan Noble continued a strong run through the Filly and Mare Open division, adding a third consecutive win at the level on Saturday night (May 9) at Northfield Park Racino.

Winning three consecutive features is always a tall task, but she has now done it back-to-back weeks from the dreaded post eight on the half mile oval. She started the streak with an impressive 4-length score prior to the two gutsy performances from post eight.
Owner and Trainer Lionel Watiker said after the race “She certainly earned a week off, she is going to spend a few days in the field to reset, but we will be back in two weeks to hopefully make it four in a row!”
The daughter of standout sire Sweet Lou and Dam Rose Run Skyler was bred right at home for the connections. Rose Run Skyler had her own ability on the racetrack as well; she earned $124,625 in her 27 starts with eight victories. Now she is proving her prowess as a mom at the Watiker farm. She just recently foaled a son of Captain Kirk in March. Only time will tell if he can live up to what his big sister is doing on the racetrack.
Sweet Illousion has demonstrated she can overcome bad posts, tough trips and still perform each week at the highest level. She has the momentum in her corner after a quick week off, She will be the one to beat when she lines up behind the wings next.
