Nichols, NY – Saulsbrook Victor (Brett MacDonald) captured the $15,000 featured Open Pace at Tioga Downs on Sunday (May 10), picking up his third seasonal win.
Saulsbrook Victor ($4.24) went straight to the front and led to the quarter in :26.4. He used a :28.3 second quarter to lead the field to a :55.2 opening half. Livonjaxandqueens (Greg Merton) was first to make a move heading down the backstretch, getting the short lead to three quarters in 1:23.

As the field reached the stretch, Saulsbrook Victor rallied back to take command, but had to brace for the late charge from second-place finisher Four By Four (Ron Cushing). Saulsbrook Victor held on to win by half a length in 1:51.3. Livonjaxandqueens had to settle for third money.
Saulsbrook Victor is an 8-year-old gelding by Source Of Pride. He is owned by Brett MacDonald and trained by Ronald MacDonald. It was his 37th career trip to the winner’s circle.
Jim Pantaleano drove five winners on the card. Mike Deters had a training grand slam. They combined for wins with Always B Elvis, Mirragon A, Bluebird Time, and Vulcan Star N. Pantaleano notched his other win with Keystone Dash.
