Saratoga Springs, NY — Help Us Help You has been a winning machine of late at Saratoga Casino Hotel. On Tuesday (May 12), the 4-year-old Helpisontheway gelding scored his fifth victory in his last six starts, posting a 1:59.1 win in a co-featured $9,700 conditioned trot.
One of three co-favorites at 2-1, Help Us Help You and driver Leon Bailey cruised unopposed through a :59.1 half before being confronted by Doubledownonour P (driven by Justin Huckabone), who was making his seasonal debut. Those two squared off in the second half before Help Us Help You asserted on the final turn and defeated Doubledownonour P by 1-1/4 lengths. Captainess Sawyer (Jimmy DeVaux) was third.
Dan Gill trains Help Us Help You, who paid $6.36 to win, for owner Adam Friedland.
The win was one of two on the card for Bailey.
