The Swedish 6-year-old Kuiper, driven by his trainer Daniel Wäjersten, was a decisive winner of the Copenhagen Cup at Charlottenlund Racetrack.
Kuiper took the lead after 400 meters and cruised to victory in 1:52.3f (mile rate), matching the race record.
Owned by the major international owner Stall Courant, Kuiper has a golden pedigree, sired by Face Time Bourbon, while his dam, a daughter of Cantab Hall, is a half-sister to Muscle Hill.
Kuiper has always been a promising horse, but only with Sunday’s victory can it truly be said that he is now beginning to live up to that promise. Kuiper’s next assignment will be the Oslo Grand Prix in a month.
For trainer Daniel Wäjersten, his first visit to the historic track in Copenhagen became memorable for more than just the victory in the Copenhagen Cup.
Wäjersten won four races on the day, including the mile race Charlottenlund Open, where he catch-drove Frode Hamre’s Crown to a comfortable victory in 1:54f.
