Saratoga Springs. NY – But Why recorded his fourth Open Trot victory of the season on Monday (May 18) afternoon when the defending Horse of the Year at Saratoga Casino Hotel went coast-to-coast.

In Monday’s installment of the $18,000 Open, reinsman Jimmy Devaux moved But Why out to the early lead where he cruised unopposed through first-half fractions of :27.4 and :57.2.
The even-money favorite looked strong every step of the way and opened up a bit past three quarters in 1:26.1 before putting the finishing touches on his fourth seasonal score stopping the timer in 1:55.1. Last week’s Open winner Ordained (Billy Dobson) closed well to be second while Platinum As (Aaron Byron) came on to finish third. But Why is owned by Steve and Laura Stewart.
