Harrington, DE – Richard Ashley and Michael Cain’s Steven’s Saloon ($5.20, Jason Thompson) was a 1:51.3 winner from the outside post in the featured $20,000 Delaware Special at Harrington Raceway on Monday (May 18).

The early stages of the race saw Primo Maschio leading the field through fractions of :26.3, :55 and 1:23.1 with heavy pressure on the final turn from Wehadababyetzaboy and Steven’s Saloon, who headed up the outer tier. The outside momentum continued in the stretch as Steven’s Saloon fanned wide and surged by for a 1-length score over Mr Three O Five and Wehadababyetzaboy.
It was the second straight win for Steven’s Saloon, a 5-year-old Always B Miki gelding trained by Joe Hunderptfund Jr. The win pushed his seasonal earnings in excess of $111,000 for the year.
Brandon Givens and Montrell Teague each had a driving double.
