Dexter Dunn is heading to Stockholm, Sweden this coming weekend (May 30 & 31), and it will not be purely a vacation — he is set to drive in no fewer than 10 races at Solvalla.
First and foremost, Dunn has been brought to Solvalla to drive the German-bred, Dutch-owned, but Swedish-trained Gio Cash in the Elitloppet.
The pair drew well with post position 1 in a heat in which they will, among others, face Allegiant with Ôrjan Kihlström, last year’s Elitlopp winner, Go On Boy with Romain Derieux, and the capable French gelding Inexess Bleu with Alexandre Abrivard, who will be making his first start at the mile distance.
Dunn, a five-time Dan Patch Driver of the Year in North America, is scheduled to drive in four races on Sunday, while he is listed to start in six races Saturday.
Among other assignments, Dunn will drive Crown in the Sweden Cup Saturday afternoon.
