Tioga, NY – Livonjaxandqueens (Greg Merton) captures the $11,000 featured pace at Tioga Downs on Monday (May 25).
BB Lucky Boy (Joe Chindano Jr.) was first to the quarter in :27.3. Stormalong (Brett MacDonald) took over with a circuit to go and led to the half in :55.1 and to three quarters in 1:22.3. Livonjaxandqueens ($7.02) was fifth to three quarters.
As they reached the stretch, Livonjaxandqueens came flying down the lane like a freight train to win easily in 1;51.0. Stormalong had to settle for second. Mirragon A (Jim Pantaleano) finished third.
Livonjaxandqueens is a 6-year-old horse by American Ideal. He is owned by Howard and Andrew Ouriel while trained by James Rothfuss. It was his second win this season and his 26th career victory.
Mike Merton had a driving hat trick. Greg Merton and Ron Cushing had driving doubles.
