Columbus, OH – Five $20,000 divisions of the Buckeye Stallion Series for 3-year-old filly trotters were held at Eldorado Scioto Downs on Thursday (June 4). Guardian Angel AS was the only sire who scored a double when his daughters Mockingbird AS and Guardian Doll took their respective divisions.
Mockingbird AS was the first Guardian Angel AS daughter to win, in 1:57, for owner/trainer and co-breeder Anette Lorentzon. Marvin Luna guided the 2-1 second choice, who is out of the Taurus Dream mare Savanah Dream and now has two wins in 10 lifetime starts and $52,350 in earnings. Bred by Lorentzon and ACL Stuteri AB, Mockingbird AS won by a length over Kira (Tyler Smith).

In just the next race, and the last of the BSS series events, Guardian Doll won in 1:55.2 for trainer Deborah Swartz and driver Ronnie Gillespie. Sent off as the 3-5 favorite, it was the filly’s third win in 12 lifetime starts for owners Jeff Fought Racing, Adam Friedland and Brian Carsey. A $45,000 Ohio Selected Yearling Sale purchase from breeders Doug Millard and Spring Haven Farm, Guardian Doll won by 3-1/2 lengths over Chasingstardust AS (Chris Page).
Earlier on the card, No Approval Needed and Brett Miller took the first division in 1:54.3. Sent off as the odds-on favorite, the Uncle Peter filly out of the Dejarmbro mare Sealedwithapproval won by a quarter length over Dublins Breanna (Braiden Rhoades). The Ryan Stahl trainee now has seven lifetime wins in 14 starts and $39,686 earned for owners Stahl, Stephen Reis and Matt Lambert. Bred by GBW Breeding Farms, No Approval Needed was a $10,000 Buckeye Classic Yearling Sale purchase.
The second division was won in 1:55.3 by the In Range filly She’s In and Tyler Smith. A winner by a neck over Capturethephoto (Austin Hanners), the Miles Wollam trainee is now three for nine lifetime and a perfect one-for-one on the season. Bred by Allen Fisher, She’s In was a $41,000 Ohio Selected Yearling Sale purchase for owner Robert Kline. The 8-1 fourth choice paid $19.80 to win.
Sam Widger steered Princess Karolyn to a 1-3/4-length victory in the third division for co-owner and trainer Rosy Weaver. The mile tied her lifetime best of 1:55 taken earlier this season. The Creatine filly out of the Credit Winner mare Social Success was a $40,000 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale purchase from breeder Marlin Detweiler. Heartland Acres co-owns the filly, who now has nine wins in 19 lifetime starts and $68,465 in earnings. Joyofmylife AS (Chris Page) was second. The winner paid $16.80 to win.
Racing continues Friday (June 5) at Scioto Downs with a 16-race card. There will be six divisions of the $20,000 Buckeye Stallion Series events for 3-year-old filly pacers on tap.
The 91-day 2026 Eldorado Scioto Downs regular season runs through Saturday, Sept. 19. Races are held Tuesday-Saturday, with a special holiday card on Labor Day instead of the Tuesday card that week. The track will then re-open for the Breeders Crown, with eliminations held Oct. 16-17 and the finals Oct. 23-24.
