Columbus, OH — The $30,000 finals of the John Konesky and Richard Brandt series for trotters were held at Eldorado Scioto Downs on Thursday (June 11).
The Konesky, for trotting fillies who were non-winners of one pari-mutuel race, went to No Approval Needed and Brett Miller in 1:55.2. The 3-year-old Uncle Peter filly won by a length over Cast No Stones (Trevor Smith), who set fractions of :27.3, :58.3 and 1:26.3 after leaving form post 8. No Approval Needed sat in the pocket and posted a :28.3 last quarter to capture her third win in four starts so far this season. Lifetime, she has eight wins in 15 lifetime starts and $54,686 in earnings. The $10,000 Buckeye Classic Yearling Sale purchase is co-owned by trainer Ryan Stahl, Stephen Reis and Matt Lambert.

Supreme Dance and Sam Widger took the Brandt, for filly trotters who were non-winners of two pari-mutuel races. Going a touch slower than the non-winners of one fillies, Supreme Dance won by three-quarters of a length in 1:56. After setting fractions of :27.2, :57.4 and 1:26.1, Supreme Dance was able to hold off Capturethephoto (Austin Hanners), who was parked the entire mile. The 12-1 shot paid $27 to win for co-owner and trainer Rosy Weaver and Scott Davis. The Full Count 3-year-old was an $8,000 Blooded Horse Sale purchase who now has 13 wins in 25 lifetime starts and $92,218 in earnings.
Racing continues Friday (June 12) with a 15-race card starting at 5:25 p.m. The Steve McCoy and Skip Hoovler pace counterparts to Thursday’s trots will be held as races 4 and 9, respectively. There will then be 16 races on Saturday night’s (June 13) card, including two $75,000 divisions of the Ohio Sires Stakes for 3-year-old colt trotters and the Jerry Knappenberger final for male non-winners of one pari-mutuel race on the pace.
The 91-day 2026 Eldorado Scioto Downs regular season runs through Sept. 19. Races are held Tuesday through Saturday, with a special holiday card on Labor Day instead of the Tuesday card that week. The track will then reopen for the Breeders Crown, with eliminations held Oct. 16-17 and the finals Oct. 23-24.
