Pennington, NJ – It is with great sadness that it is announced Chris Young, 82, died June 14, 2026, at the home of his daughter, Laura Young, at Southwind Farm in Pennington N.J.
He was surrounded by those who loved him – Laura, her husband, Chris, and their son, CJ, kept a vigil at his bedside until he could be reunited with his loving wife, Emma Young, who passed away late last year. He is also at peace with his son who proceeded him in death, Chris Young Jr.
Mr. Young was born on June 10, 1944, in Trenton, N.J. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, which fit his trade of being a gunsmith and a patent holder/engineer of CCS Sabots. His family will continue his legacy of producing and selling sabots. He also was a horse owner. He was Laura’s first partner on a broodmare, Fancy Starlark, who is still owned by Laura.
To know this man was to love him. He had a quiet strength that he passed onto his daughter, Laura, and grandson, CJ. He had a loving heart, a bellowing laugh and a smile that would light up a room. He will be truly missed but his doting wife Emma called him “home.”
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Standardbred Pleasure Horse Organization of New Jersey.
