Nichols, NY – Enola (Mike Merton) won the $14,500 featured Open Trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday (June 20).

Enola ($3.36) charged straight to the front and was first to the quarter in :28. She controlled things to the half in :57.2. Tuis Angel came first-up to challenge as they headed down the backstretch. Enola was the first one to three quarters in 1:25.1.
Second-place finisher Tuis Angel and Enola were shoulder to shoulder as they made the turn for home. The two slugged it out down the stretch but Enola dug in and won in 1:54. Sir Maverick (Joe Chindano Jr.) took third money.
Enola is a 6-year-old mare by Resolve. She is owned by Go For Glory Stable and trained by Rob Harmon. It was her fifth win this season. She now has 21 career victories.
Drivers Mike Merton and Ridge Warren had grand slams. Merton got his other wins with EV Does It, Hermosa Rey, and Gritty Hanover. Warren went to the winner’s circle with Wukong, Lorranga, Mob Enforcer, and What A Buckeye. Rob Harmon had a training hat trick.
Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Sunday (June 21) starting at 12:30 p.m.
