Vernon, NY — Chapvious (Leon Bailey) captured the $7,500 featured trot on Friday (June 26) at Vernon Downs.
Lous Lancelot (James Lackey) led to the quarter in :27.4. He slowed things down with a :30.3 second quarter and was first to the half in :58.2. Tiktok Roy (Jimmy Whittemore) was first to make a move, going first-over heading around the final turn, and was first to three-quarters in 1:27.2.
As they reached the stretch, Chapvious ($4.30) joined second-place finisher Tiktok Roy as they battled down the stretch. Chapvious used a late lunge to claim the win in 1:56.4. Lous Lancelot had to settle for third.

Chapvious is a 4-year-old mare by Devious Man owned by Purple Haze Stables and trained by George Ducharme. It was her third win this season. She now has seven career victories.
Jimmy Whittemore had a driving hat trick. Truman Gale and Chris Long had driving doubles. George Ducharme had a training double.
