Nichols, NY – Saulsbrook Victor (Brett MacDonald) grabbed the $12,500 featured pace at Tioga Downs on Sunday (July 5).
Saulsbrook Victor ($5.66) charged straight to the front and was first to the opening quarter in :27.0. He slowed things down with a :29.4 second quarter and led to the half in :56.4. Vengeance Bluechip (Mike Merton) was first to make a move heading to the final turn. Saulsbrook Victor was first to three quarters in 1:21.4.
As they entered the stretch second place finisher Rockstar Artist A (James Kennedy) popped out of the pocket and went all out after the lead, but Saulsbrook Victor found another gear and won easily in 1:51.2. Vengeance Bluechip came three-wide late and had to settle for third.
Saulsbrook Victor is an 8-year-old gelding by Source Of Pride. Ron MacDonald is the trainer for owner Brett MacDonald. It Saulsbrook Victor’s fourth win this season. He now has 38 career victories.
Drivers James Kennedy, Collin Kelly, Ridge Warren, and Ron Cushing all had doubles. Enrico Robinson had a training double.
