Yonkers, NY – Andrew Adamczyk and Joe Faraldo both delivered double-digit winners in the pair of $13,100 divisions of the North American Amateur Drivers Association (NAADA) trots on Thursday night (July 9) at MGM Yonkers Raceway.
Adamczyk scored going pillar to post with 25-1 shot Jesses Doll in a 1:58.3 mile. After clearing command from post 5, Jesses Doll cut a :28.4 first quarter as Bacardi (driven by Joe Lee) raced stuck on the rim from third all through to a :59.2 half. Jesses Doll cruised to three-quarters in 1:28.3 and then held his ground once favored Pc Free Wheeling (Rey Franco) tipped from the pocket to attack in the stretch for a neck win. Bacardi gave chase in third, another six lengths behind, with Baby Tao (Scott Keppler) closing from last for fourth.
Michael Meza trains Jesses Doll, a 7-year-old mare by Jailhouse Jesse, for owner Jaypaul Hoover. She paid $52.02 to win.
Joe Faraldo vaulted off cover in the other NAADA division to land with 12-1 shot Radio Lab in a 1:59.2 mile. Faraldo settled into fourth while 79-1 shot Bontoni Degato S (James Slendorn) fired from post 8 for the lead to a :29.3 first quarter. Shake N Bake (Yogi Sheridan), the 1-2 favorite, angled off the pylons from third moving to a 1:00.2 half and Faraldo tipped Radio Lab outside to follow. Bontoni Degato S battled with Shake N Bake to three-quarters in 1:29.2 and remained neck and neck through the turn while Radio Lab swelled in the wings. Radio Lab lunged off a helmet in the lane to down Bontoni Degato S by a half-length with Shake N Bake settling for third and Communion Money (Scott Bako) recovering from a break at the start for fourth.
Scott DiDomenico trains Radio Lab, a 7-year-old gelding by Crazed, for owners Joe Faraldo and Triple D Stables Inc. He paid $27.14 to win.
NAADA action shifts to Monticello next Wednesday (July 15) for the next leg of the club’s summer series. First-race post time at Monticello is 12:10 p.m. (EDT).
