Edgerton, OH — Emily Hay and Alesha Binkley captured this past week’s Ohio Ladies Pace Series races.
Hay got it underway by steering the 9-year-old gelding Mr I Am (Western Spirit-Swift Passion) to victory on Monday (July 23) at the Seneca County Fair at Tiffin. Tom Phillips pays the bills on Mr I Am with Tricia Shepard doing the training. The gelding covered the Tiffin twice-around in 2:00.
Binkley completed the week’s action by guiding Astarisontheway (Dontgetinmyway-Bikini Star) to the winner’s circle at the Preble County Fair at Eaton on Sunday (July 29). The 8-year-old mare turned in a mile in 2:00.3. Astarisontheway is owned by Binkley in partnership with the Trent Stohler Stable Inc. and Benjamin Graber. Trent Stohler provides the conditioning for the mare.
Mandy Jones continues to lead in points in the Ohio Ladies Pace Series after 11 legs with 294 points. The other point totals are as follows: Emily Hay (245), Alesha Binkley (180), Mariah Wright (178), Amy Eubanks (160), Mary Dawson (129), Rhonda Patrick (114), Amy Wengerd (95), Mary Birkhold (80), Jayne Weller (75), Sierra Graham (51), Renee Bauslaugh (45), Kacey Burns (35), Jamie Coffy (35), Ulrika Karlsson (35), Patricia Stull (22), and Bobbie Jo Brewer (15).
The action in the Ohio Ladies Pace Series continues this week at the Auglaize County Fair at Wapakoneta and at the Greene County Fair at Xenia. Both contests will take place on Wednesday (Aug. 1).
