Kids of all ages will be able to leave their mark on the grey ex-racehorse Aim For Glory. A winner of over $192,000, the 9-year-old Aim For Glory is now a riding horse who loves attention from kids. The track will provide paint for anyone who wants to pet ‘Whitey’ and decorate him in style.
The track’s inaugural Corgi Races will be held trackside between races, starting after the first harness horse race. Pre-registration is required and can be done through the event created from the Eldorado Scioto Downs Facebook page. Dog check-in begins at 5 p.m.
The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association will also be conducting their TV & Tickets giveaway. Enter for a chance to win one of five grand prizes, including a 55-inch tv, Roku stick, one-month subscription for RTN (to watch harness racing from tracks across North America) and tickets to a local college football game.
The OHHA will also be hosting Queenie, the Shetland pony travel companion to 3-year-old filly pacer and Ohio Sires Stakes competitor Rhodena Blue on Friday and Saturday (Aug. 28-29). Queenie will be available to “hoof-o-graph” copies of her and Rhodena Blue’s story about how they travel from Canada to race for father-daughter team Neil and Rory MacInnis. Rhodena Blue currently sits ninth in the Ohio Sires Stakes standings and is scheduled to race on Friday.
The 91-day 2026 Eldorado Scioto Downs regular season runs through Sept. 19. Races are held Tuesdays and Thursdays through Saturdays, with a special holiday card on Labor Day instead of the Tuesday card that week and no live racing on Friday (Sept. 18) to accommodate horsepeople attending the Ohio Selected Yearling Sale. The track will then re-open for the Breeders Crown, with eliminations held Oct. 16-17 and the finals Oct. 23-24.
