Washington, PA – Here is this week’s Meadows Monday Memo:
LAST WEEK OF THE SUMMER SCHEDULE
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will race Wednesday (Sept. 2) and Thursday (Sept. 3) this week at 12:45pm, Friday evening at 5:10pm, and Saturday at 12:45pm. This will be the final 4-day race week of the summer, as this is the final Saturday of racing until late November. Next week, the track will shift to its Fall schedule, with racing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (Sept. 4) afternoons at 12:45 p.m.
LOUA DIPA RETURNS TUESDAY
Top pacing filly Loua Dipa will make her return to action at The Meadows on Tuesday morning (September 1) in a qualifying race. The filly is 4-for-7 on the season, including 4-for-5 in races against fillies. Her most recent two races were in the Grade 1 Delvin Miller Adios pacing elimination and final. She will leave from post 4 in the fourth qualifying race on Tuesday, with Ronnie Wrenn driving for trainer Ron Burke. Post time for the first of four prep races will be 10:30 a.m/, and the action will be shown live on the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association’s Facebook page.
“DOLLAR DOG” NIGHT FRIDAY
This Friday night, will be the final Friday evening card at The Meadows for the summer, and will be deemed a Fan Appreciation Night. The Meadows will offer $1 hot dogs and $2 beers to thank our customers for their support throughout the Championship Meet this summer. Post time will be 5:10 p.m.
STALLION SERIES FINALS LEAD SATURDAY CARD
Saturday afternoon’s (Sept. 5) card will feature eight $40,000 Pennsylvania Stallion Series Championships for two- and three-year-olds. Horses earned points throughout the summer in four legs, and the top point-winners will meet in the Championships. Post positions will be drawn on Wednesday.
$3 PICK THREE TO BE OFFERED SATURDAY
On Adios Day, The Meadows debuted a brand new wager, a $3 Pick3, which was well received by horseplayers. The bet will be brought back this Saturday on Stallion Series Championship Day. The exact races that will be used for the Pick3 will be determined after Wednesday’s post position draw.
MEET THE DRIVERS THIS SATURDAY
Prior to Saturday’s card, racing fans will have the chance to meet and greet several of The Meadows’ leading drivers, as they will be on the apron level for a special event beginning at 11:45 a>m. All racing fans are invited.
