Hastings, MI – Northville Downs at Barry Expo Center opened their 2026 meet Tuesday and Wednesday (Sept. 1 and 2) with Michigan Sire Stakes eliminations as the featured event along with several overnights. Hot temperatures and a well-maintained track surface helped produce multiple track records over the two-day period.
Tuesday opened the 2026 Northville meet. A total of six track records were established or tied this day. Those records included:
• Supertonic (Stonebridge Tonic-Kwantum Key) and driver Brad Kramer lowered the 3-year-old pacing filly record to 1:56.4
• Allamerican Beach (Wakazashi Beach-Graney) and driver Brad Kramer lowered the 3-year-old pacing gelding mark to an eye-popping 1:55.1
• What Ma Says (Captain Victorious-Pv Miracle Mary) and driver David Lake then tied Allamerican Beach’s record the very next race in 1:55.1
• Hardt’s Ace (Manhardt-Blissfulla Sin) and driver Aaron Merriman lowered the 3-year-old pacing colt record to 1:58.2
• Retta Estelle (Archangel-Ijustwannahavefun) and driver John Moody set a new 4-year-old mare trotting record to 2:02.4
• Plumville Prince (Father Patrick-Lady Athens) and driver Kody Massey established a new aged trotting horse record in 1:58.2
On Wednesday, the races did not disappoint fans with multiple track records falling once again. Those records included:
• Life Blue Bayou (Muscles For Life-Sister Maggie) and driver Brad Kramer set a new record for 2-year-old trotting geldings to 2:02.4
• Wheelin Cleatus (Luck Be Withyou-Lady In Fashion) and driver/trainer Daryl Bontrager who co-owns the 2-year-old pacing gelding with Levi Schmucker, set the new record in his division to 1:57.1
• Westwins Eagle (Stars Align A-Pan Vivant) and driver/trainer Lewayne Miller established a new record for 2-year-old pacing colts in a time of 1:57.
Racing at Northville Downs at Barry Expo Center in Hastings, MI returns on Tuesday (Sept. 8) and Wednesday (Sept. 9) with a first post time of 1 p.m. each day.
